PRESERFLO MicroShunt implantation

Webinar Description

Presenter: Chelvin Sng

The PRESERFLO microshunt is a subconjunctival device which is implanted ab-externo. Perform conjunctival peritomy, apply mitomycin C on sponges, then copiously irrigate the eye after removing the sponges. Mark the sclera 3 mm posterior to the limbus, then create a shallow scleral pocket with a 1mm-wide disposable knife. Create a trans-scleral tract with a 25G needle from the apex of the scleral pocket to the anterior chamber. Insert the microshunt into transscleral tract. Wedge the fin firmly into the scleral pocket to prevent peri-device leak. Ensure that aqueous flow through the MicroShunt is initiated before closing the tenon’s capsule and conjunctiva with nylon sutures.
